FarMore® Technology Pak

FarMore® Technology Pak

Syngenta's FarMore® Technology Pak works as a first line of defense against a range of pests. The compounds control soil-borne, seed-borne, and airborne diseases that attack a young plant, including fungi and insects. FarMore® works with our current processes including encrusting, pelleting, priming and film coating.

Applied to seeds for better protectant delivery

FarMore® Technology Pak is a novel approach for vegetable seeds. Seed Dynamics selects the appropriate ratio of compounds for your needs, then carefully applies them to your seeds. The compounds are then delivered directly to the seeds, when and where they're needed most. Waste is reduced. The compounds are not applied in places they don't need to be, such as the air or soil outside the direct growing area, making this technology is much healthier for the overall environment.

Growing benefits

FarMore® seed enhancements improve yield in many ways.

  • Increases seedling health.
  • Targets accurate application.
  • Protects high-value seed against a range of diseases. View list of specific diseases
  • Complements other crop rotation methods.
  • Provides convenience for growers.
  • Offers excellent worker protection.
  • Delivers excellent environmental profile.
  • Allows for improved seed germination and seedling emergence.
  • Optimizes stand establishment and plant vigor. Read more about Filed and Laboratory Results

Protects against fungi, insects, transplant shock

  • Fungi: All four major classes of pathogenic fungi that cause early-season infections, including Fusarium, Pythium and Rhizoctonia and others.
  • Insects: Aphids, cucumber beetles, flea beetles, leafminers, whiteflies, seedcorn maggot and wireworm can damage crops and yield potential, significantly affecting your bottom line. These pests also can serve as vectors of various diseases that can infect plants, so stopping the pests can stop disease.
  • Transplant shock and helps the plants grow to their genetic potential

Reduced Environmental Impact

Because delivery is customized to each crop seed and combines low use-rate compound, this technology is classified "reduced risk" by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Works at a critical time and location

This plant protectant works at the most critical time of plant development, in the place where it's needed most, right on the germinating seed. The spectrum of protectants in FarMore® targets fungi that cause early-season infections such as damping-off, decay and seedling blight that can delay emergence, stunt plant growth and even cause eventual death of the seed or seedling. These protectants combat those pests and helps you extract the most from your stands.

Available for small-seeded vegetables

FarMore® Technology Pak is intended for direct seedling only and not for plants intended for transplanting.  We make it available for the following crop groups:

  • Fruiting vegetables: Tomatoes, Peppers
  • Leafy Vegetables: Lettuce, Spinach
  • Bulb or root vegetables: Carrot, Onion, Fennel
  • Cucurbit vegetables: Cucumber, Melons, Watermelon
  • Brassica vegetables: Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower

Protects seedlings

During germination and stand establishment, the seed and emerging seedling are unable to protect themselves from many invasive pathogens. FarMore® Technology Pak can help.

Safeguards against a range of diseases

FarMore® seed enhancements protect agains many diseases, including:

  • Aspergillis
  • Fusariuum
  • Helminthosporium
  • Penicillium
  • Pythium
  • Rhizoctonia
  • Seed-borne Sclerotinia

Helps avoid damages

FarMore® seed enhancements help prevent many damages, including:

  • Damping-off
  • Decay
  • Seed blight
  • Plant death

Proven effective

Technically speaking, FarMore® Technology Pak has demonstrated excellent efficacy against key pathogens implicated in seed-borne and soil-borne diseases for a variety of vegetable seeds under stressful conditions.

In 2003, FarMore® Technology Pak underwent laboratory studies. Some results inlclude:

  • 47% protection improvement against Rhizoctonia for tomatoes (versus 0% improvement for control)
  • 23% protection improvement against Pythium for carrots (versus 0% improvement for control)
  • 23% protection improvement against Pythium for melons (versus 10% improvement for control)
